The 2020 cohort of the North Shore Young Citizens’ Forum got off to a great start last week. Tsleil-Waututh member, Carleen Thomas, opened the program in a good way with a protocol welcome and words of advice for us to work together. The cohort spent most of the session learning about each other and figuring out how they want to work together over the coming several months.
Throughout the following weeks they will be hearing from all three of the North Shore municipalities, as well as local First Nations about how decisions are made. In November the cohort will divide into project groups to bring their innovative ideas forward in service of their communities.
We look forward to sharing more of their learnings and journey along the way.
