We’re thrilled to share the final report for the City Shapers: Public Space program. Over ten weeks, 25 young people came together to learn about public spaces – how they are designed, and who for. Groups then worked with the City of Surrey and the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association to develop real-world recommendations for public spaces across the region. From rural Cloverdale to bustling Granville Street in Downtown Vancouver’s core, these projects ranged in scope and approach, but left the partners with ideas that can be implemented on the ground.
We can’t wait to see some of the youth’s ideas become realities in the months and years ahead.
