CLIMATE ACTION PROGRAMS
CityHive recognizes that one of the most pressing urban challenges of our time is climate change. Our research and conversations with youth illustrate the urgency of the problem, while also identifying that youth often feel ill-equipped or unsure how to take climate action in their own communities. Our workshops and lab programs bring together youth from diverse backgrounds to tackle climate issues on a local scale.
Climate Action Jam
CityHive’s new Climate Action Jam brings a condensed knowledge-to-action program into community settings. Providing participants a strong civic education while also rooting conversations in social justice and community.

Innovation Labs
CityHive runs innovation lab programs to provide opportunities for youth to work on tackling complex challenges. We collaborate with organizations, community leaders, city staff and elected officials to structure sessions around actual challenges and to ensure that projects created in the process have a direct impact.

Climate ShareSpace
Climate ShareSpace is a cohort of physical offices and coworking locations across what’s currently referred to as Canada for youth-led organizations to utilize for collaboration and storage. Provided in partnership with the Youth Harbour, these spaces provide a safe PLACE for peer-to-peer mentorship, a centralized SPACE for cross-collaborative planning, and a STORAGE area to store and share materials for climate work.
