How do you take a project idea and make it real?

The Project Hub is a supportive space facilitated by CityHive for youth to work together with community partners on projects that improve their city.

Over the years, participants in our cohort-based ideation programs (ie Envirolab or City Shapers) have experienced real challenges in maintaining project momentum once their program concludes. Born directly from this alumni feedback, the Project Hub seeks to support youth to get city-shaping projects off the ground in collaboration with community partners. This support includes skill-building workshops (on topics such as business planning, grant writing, and more) as well as facilitated peer-input sessions.

THE PROBLEM SPACE

The Project Hub meets a very real need for project development support as an intermediary between existing programs. CityHive is one of many local organizations that run inspiring and creative ideation programs for youth. The alumni of these programs are equipped with the skills and the know-how to develop real solutions to our cities’ wicked problems. On the other hand, we have incubators and accelerators that provide great support to well-developed projects and organizations that are already getting off the ground.

The Project Hub exists to fill this gap between ideation and incubation. An important stage of development and growth as a project takes shape and begins gaining momentum.

GET INVOLVED

The Project Hub is currently limited to alumni of CityHive programs, though future plans involve expanding to include participants of other local programs.

CityHive alumni who are interested in joining, please use the Eventbrite links on this page to RSVP for upcoming sessions.

If you have questions about the program, or if you would like to offer a skill-building workshop, please email rowan@cityhive.ca
