Dear CityHive community,
After an incredible 6 years as CityHive’s Co-founder and inaugural Executive Director, Veronika Bylicki will be passing the torch to a new, young leader in mid-2023.
Veronika co-founded and grew CityHive into one of Metro Vancouver’s most recognized youth non-profits. Under her outstanding leadership, CityHive has worked with over 25,000 youth, dozens of municipalities, and many more community partners, delivering dozens of civic education programs, innovation labs, climate action programs, and youth engagement projects, and has been awarded Best Youth Engagement Organization in Canada in 2021.
Veronika’s passion, caring leadership, relationship-building skills, and strategic prowess has uniquely built bridges between youth, local governments, civic institutions, and community organizations. She has and continues to inspire many, having made a major dent in CityHive’s mission to transform the way that young people engage in decision-making and the way that cities engage youth.
When Veronika and Tesicca co-founded CityHive they couldn’t have imagined how far the organization would go. Growing from a mighty duo, CityHive is now supported by an incredible team of 12+ staff and 7 Board of Directors, maintaining its youth-led status since inception. Veronika has brought CityHive to a new era as an established organization and the Board is now ready and excited to launch the search for our next Executive Director.
But don’t worry! There will still be lots of time for goodbyes. Veronika will be staying on to support the successful transition of a newly hired Executive Director until mid-2023. With the support of CityHive staff and board members, a smooth transition of leadership will occur with no planned changes to our programs.
This is an exciting time of growth and change for CityHive. Though Veronika will be missed, the opportunity to help CityHive write its next chapter is waiting for the right leader!
