Elizabeth (Tumi) Fabiyi

Tumi is in her first year of engineering at the University of British Columbia and has always been deeply driven by a love for leadership, problem-solving, and social consciousness. Throughout her schooling, she actively sought opportunities to delve into the world of tech while championing inclusivity and equity in her community. Passionate about making a difference, Tumi seamlessly combined her love for technology with a commitment to community service. In high school, she dedicated over 1500 volunteer hours to her local Food Bank, Library, and church, and notably founded a volunteer society that organized impactful initiatives, including donations of food and jackets to those in need in the winter. Tumi’s commitment to impactful work in the tech sector is evident in her previous role as a Data Science and SWE Intern at EHS Analytics. Here, she revitalized legacy codebases and designed accessibility-focused dashboards. Her belief in the transformative potential of science and technology motivates her to contribute to a fairer society through community-focused initiatives. Tumi is inspired by the power of creativity and technology to shape a better future and is excited to leverage her experience to serve youth in Vancouver.
