We engage youth to shape their cities and enact meaninfgul civic change.
Our youth are a vital force for change, yet they remain significantly underrepresented in civic processes, often excluded from crucial discussions on affordability strategies, housing solutions, and climate plans.
CityHive has identified key factors inhibiting youth participation: a lack of civic literacy, limited trust and connections with governments and decision-makers, and inaccessible civic processes.
For youth with intersecting identities, the barriers can be even more debilitating, particularly for Indigenous youth, racialized youth, newcomers, youth with disabilities, and LGBTQ2S+ youth.
Together, we can work to break down these barriers and empower every young voice in our communities.
