Emily Cervenka is a dedicated advocate for environmental sustainability and has pursued this passion in many ways throughout different stages in her life. She holds a Master’s degree in Cell and Molecular Biology, where she used bacteria to make bioplastic out of CO2 in an effort to help fight the plastics crisis. While in university, she co-founded a grassroots youth climate organization that successfully worked with academics, advocates, and politicians to improve the city of Kingstons’s climate action plan. Today, she works as a junior researcher in a consulting firm that works with Indigenous groups to problem-solve and negotiate for better agreements with governments and big companies. In her free time, you can find her taking pictures, cycling, climbing, or reading a good book.
