Ismail Askin

Ismail Askin (he/them) is a settler of Turkish/Mexican descent living on the traditional and unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh nations. He works as the Community Engagement Coordinator with the Worker Solidarity Network and is also the Equity Chair of his municipal party in Vancouver and involved in organizing for provincial and federal politics. He got his start in the world of changemaking through a CityHive cohort program, and since then has worked to stay involved via the CityHive Youth Advisory Committee and in other capacities to ensure CityHive can continue to open doors for young people the same way it opened them for him. He wishes to join the Board as, having been a cohort member, project partner, observer, and a member of other boards, he believes this is the next natural step for him to utilize his skills and experience to support CityHive.
