Joy is from Madagascar. She came to Canada to pursue studies in architecture, social innovation and environmental studies. Being the first person in her family to have access to post-secondary education, she has always understood the importance of education in youth empowerment. Joy has a strong commitment to the causes of social and environmental justice. She is passionate about nature and is fascinated by the interconnectedness of a community’s well-being and its built environment. Joy works in community development and continues to advocate for a more equitable, sustainable, healthy and inclusive environment for everyone. She’s continuously working to find a way to combine her interests and various skills to bring positive social change within her community. Her favorite pastimes include reading, exploring new places and catching sunset.
